Property Insurance One of the biggest mistakes I find with homeowners insurance customers is that they don't compare rates. They stay with the same company year after year and are paying too much for their insurance, sometimes more than $1000 a year. I don't think it is a good idea to change insurance companies annually but I do think that once every 2-3 years you should get a quote from a competing company and see where you are in comparison.
